Hale Aircraft supports small and medium PT6A variants, including the PT6A-27 and -28, the PT6A-34 and -34AG, the PT6A-41 and -42, the PT6A-52, the PT6A-114 and -114A, and the PT6A-135 and -135A.
Some exclusions apply. If your engine or dash number is not listed, call us with it and we will confirm what we can support and coordinate anything outside our shop on your behalf.
A note on scope. Our PT6A engine services are performed within the limits of the applicable maintenance manual and the ratings on our repair station certificate. Where a task falls outside that scope we say so and help you route it, rather than stretching a definition to keep the work in house.
Operators generally come to us for PT6A engine services in one of two situations: a scheduled event where the date is known and the goal is a predictable return to service, or an unscheduled finding where the aircraft is already down. Both are worth a phone call before the engine moves, because the right first step is often an inspection rather than a removal.
Fly-in. Fly your aircraft to our Hampton, Georgia facility (KHMP) in the Atlanta area.
Ship-in. Remove and ship your engine to us from anywhere in the country. Ship-in engines also receive a comprehensive logbook review.
Field service. For inspections and tasks that can be performed on-site, our team travels within the United States.

Does Hale Aircraft overhaul PT6A engines in-house?
Our in-house PT6A work covers hot section inspections, advanced borescope inspections, fuel nozzle service, and repairs performed within the Pratt & Whitney Maintenance Manual. When your engine reaches overhaul, we manage the entire process on your behalf and coordinate the overhaul facility, parts, and timeline, so you keep one accountable point of contact from teardown through return-to-service paperwork.
Can PT6A work be done with the engine still on the aircraft?
Much of it can, and that is the point. The PT6A is designed so that a hot section inspection can be performed on-wing, and borescope inspections and fuel nozzle service routinely are. Keeping the engine installed removes the teardown, crating, and shipping cycle, which saves both time and cost. Where a finding calls for shop-level work, you can fly in to our Hampton, GA facility (KHMP) or ship us the engine.
What documentation do I receive?
You receive complete documentation for every task: inspection findings, dimensional results, NDT reports, repair records, parts traceability, and the appropriate logbook entries, all performed within Pratt & Whitney Maintenance Manual scope under FAA Part 145 Repair Station #41ER737D. Engines shipped to us also receive a comprehensive logbook review.
How quickly can you turn my PT6A around?
Fast turnaround is one of the main reasons operators call us, and performing work on-wing wherever possible is a large part of how we achieve it. Actual timing depends on findings: a clean inspection moves quickly, while repairs or replacement parts extend it. We give you a realistic timeline as soon as we understand your engine condition, and nothing additional proceeds until you have approved it.

We work with PT6A operators nationwide three ways: fly your aircraft in to Hampton, GA (KHMP) in the Atlanta area, ship us your engine from anywhere in the country, or have our team travel to you within the United States for work that can be performed in the field.
