When your Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A needs more than inspection, Hale Aircraft performs PT6A engine repair within Pratt & Whitney Maintenance Manual scope, returning components to serviceable condition using our in-house machining, welding, and certified NDT.
Backed by FAA Part 145 Repair Station #41ER737D and three decades of turbine discipline, we keep your engine airworthy and fully documented, with no part sitting in transit waiting on a third-party shop schedule.
We repair PT6A components within the scope of the Pratt & Whitney Maintenance Manual: hot-section and combustion component repair, compressor and turbine hardware repair within limits, sheet metal and structural component repair, fuel nozzle service and related component work, and crack repair and dimensional restoration via in-house welding and machining.
When a full engine overhaul is the right path, Hale manages that process for you through our managed overhaul coordination, so you always have a single accountable partner.
Repair is usually triggered by a finding rather than a calendar. Cracking, wear, or coating loss turned up by a hot section or borescope inspection is the most common starting point.
Performance trend changes that point to component distress are the second. If your numbers are drifting and a borescope confirms why, repair is the targeted fix rather than a full teardown.
Events drive the rest: a hot start, an overtemp, or an FOD event all warrant an inspection that frequently turns into a repair scope.
Service bulletin or airworthiness directive compliance is the fourth path, and one where the documentation matters as much as the work itself.
Step 1
We review logs, trend data, and inspection findings to define the repair scope before anything comes apart, so the quote reflects the actual work.
Step 2
Affected components are accessed, cleaned, and inspected, including certified NDT by liquid penetrant or magnetic particle, against Pratt & Whitney limits.
Step 3
Repairable components are restored using our in-house machining and welding for crack repair, resurfacing, or dimensional restoration.
Step 4
Parts beyond limits are replaced with traceable hardware. You see the findings and approve the plan before any additional work begins.
Step 5
Components are reassembled to Pratt & Whitney specification with fresh seals, lock wiring, torque verification, and full traceability.
Step 6
Final leak and operational checks are completed and documented per the Maintenance Manual before the engine returns to service.

Yes. NDT, machining, welding, and component repair are all performed in-house under one roof, which removes vendor handoffs and shortens turnaround.
The Pratt & Whitney Engine Maintenance Manual and any applicable Service Bulletins set the limits. Every component is cleaned, dimensionally measured, and inspected by liquid penetrant or magnetic particle NDT, then compared against those limits. Parts inside limits go back on the engine, repairable parts move to our machining and welding shop for crack repair or dimensional restoration, and parts beyond limits are replaced with traceable components. You see the findings and approve the plan before we proceed.
We support small and medium PT6A variants, including the PT6A-27/-28, -34/-34AG, -41/-42, -52, -114/-114A, and -135/-135A. Some exclusions apply, so contact our team with your dash number and we will confirm exactly what we can support.
Either works. We can evaluate and repair individual components you ship to us, or handle repairs as part of a larger inspection or overhaul-coordination program at our Hampton, GA facility. Engines shipped in also receive a comprehensive logbook review.
